Compact Hearts Content, Boost Case:
The Hearts Content Boost Case is designed to hold two large glass prefill vials made by Pfizer© (these include dextrose/D50 and Sodium Bicarb vials) along with one large prefill plastic syringe also made by Pfizer©.
- If you’ve ordered the Triple or Quad versions, you can fit three or four vials.
The intention is to reuse your plastic syringe in a patient care situation in order to save space in your medication bags. These rigid, hardened cases replace the factory cardboard boxes that the prefills come in originally – all of which is fine for a shelf in your ICU, but horrible for being placed in crammed equipment bags. Unprotected, these cardboard boxes breakdown, rip and tear - leading to glass breakage, or accidental removal of the safety yellow tabs that protect from needlestick injury and maintain sterility. This case protects against all this and also adds enhanced protection from breakage in general.
Besides protection, these cases offer organization during an arrest – imagine opening one case and having multiple prefilled medications ready at your disposal – instead of opening one case at a time. Once opened, this creates a plate-like display to help you organize your arrest.
The case lid is magnetically sealed and securely held in place. There is a small section with a protective film on the top of the case that allows the writing of an expiry date using permanent marker. This film prevents the permanent marker from rubbing off, unless you clean with an alcohol swab, allowing the space to be written on once again. The braided 304 stainless steel tether between the case body & lid is robust, easy to clean and will never rust. Each glass vial slot contains a flexible cushioned pad, to accommodate slight variances in glass vial sizes and to ensure vials are held securely in place.
Lastly, you’ll also find a hole through the entire case – this allows the use of your organizations soft-locks or lock-ties, if desired or required.
**Important Notes:
- The Hearts Content BOOST Case was designed to be used with Pfizer© brand prefilled medications.
