About Us
About The Company:
Tree Dee Designs Inc. was founded by Darrell Chaffey, who has over 21 years experience as a Trauma/Critical Care Nurse - mostly with a Provincial Critical Care Flight Team in Canada - using fixed & rotor wing aircrafts.
In his free time, he pursues another passion - problem solving with computers, code, design & electronics. This led him to developing & manufacturing unique devices to help bridge the gap between the ER/ICU setting into the varied ever-changing paramedicine world.
About The Products:
For those of us that carry around their own personal ICU/ER with them wherever they go, you've certainly encountered problems with products designed to be stored in a cabinet or devices designed for environments with much more space.
Our devices help mount & organise various medications drawn-up in syringes to enhance access & prevent loss or confusion. Various equipment cases not only store medications but actually protect them from breakage - while enhancing rapid access, quick identification, ease of use and faster gear checks.
Not only do our devices enhance the practitioner's role in medical transport, but also greatly lowers liability for the employer/company - ensuring medications needed in life threatening situations are not only ready, but also not broken, remain sterile and prevent accidental needle stick injuries.
Give your medical team the tools and devices to allow them to perform their job optimally and safely - to ultimately enhance patient treatment & outcome.
Medical devices made by someone in your field, with the same passion & frustrations you experience every day.
How the company got started: The Pump Crown Story:
After working on a medical flight team in Canada for over 10 years, using the Alaris Medsystem III infusion pump (primarily, using 60cc syringes to infuse medications) we would secure syringes to the infusion pump using either a rubber band (that was flimsy with syringes falling everywhere), or with messy medical tape that only left residue and was not convenient for switching syringes during long transports. Often, with very sick critical care patients, we'd have numerous syringes of various sizes, laid and poked everywhere. I thought - there must be a better way.
So I designed the Pump Crown. A medical syringe holder for use with the Alaris Medsystem III (aka, MiniMed). The design has been trialled and refined within our very own critical care transport team, in real world situations - fixed wing, rotor wing, cold/hot weather, high winds, snow storms, movements from air to ground - this holder has proven to secure our syringes in place while also making it easy to snap them on & off as needed. It even survives being stored in our ever so compacted med bags.
This design was so popular that it eventually got attention from Critical Care transport teams across North America. This led to the creation of Tree Dee Designs Inc. to allow everyone access to this device. The success of the Pump Crown led to many more creations that are now being enjoyed by many emergency response teams around the world.
